Description
The purpose of this RFI is to gather information regarding available data backup and recovery solution providers that may be useful to BC Housing Commission with respect to potential future procurement or other process initiative. This RFI is not: (i) a tender notice or call for tenders; (ii) a notice of planned procurement.

In recent years, technology and legislation have changed, industry best practices have evolved, and BC Housing now utilizes both on-premises and cloud-based services. Due to these changes, BC Housing has commenced a project to assess and recommend appropriate solutions to modernize its data backup and recovery services and associated infrastructure.

At present, BC Housing utilizes Commvault’s on-premises data backup and recovery solution. It also utilizes cloud-based storage solution for several of its Microsoft solutions. Approximately 210 TB of total data is stored across the above storage methods as of May 2023. For longer term data storage, it currently utilizes Dell LT05 tapes.
