Description
Basic Requirements
1. Respond to requests for advice from Ministry of Forests, (MoF), by telephone, fax or e-mail, regarding the survey of Crown land;
2. Review all applications provided by MoF for survey parcels of Crown land to:
a. Determine if a parcel is already adequately surveyed and monumented to allow for disposition;
b. Determine the ownership and encumbrance status of the parcel and if the land is titled or untitled (may have already been completed by MoF);
c. Determine if the parcel is adequately described for issuance of a Crown grant;
d. Identify and resolve, if necessary, any access issues that may impede the disposition of the parcel;
e. Identify and resolve, if necessary, any other conflicts that may arise as a result of this work, and,
f. Obtain any preliminary subdivision or other approvals that may be required.
g. Provide advice and support on the terms of reference for survey instructions for survey work to be completed by other 3rd party surveyors.
h. Provide advice and support on preliminary subdivision or other approvals that may be required for subdivision applications.
i. When the survey is complete, review and lead the discussion to resolve any issues regarding the survey plans between the surveyor and the Surveyor General to ensure that both the survey and the plans are acceptable.
