Description
This notice describes, in general terms, a future procurement opportunity contemplated by the Province of British Columbia (“BC”) through its Ministry of Emergency Management and Climate Readiness (the “Ministry”).
The Ministry leads provincial emergency and disaster risk management, builds and fosters collaborative relationships and partnerships, advances meaningful and lasting reconciliation, and supports all peoples in British Columbia to reduce disaster risk. As such, the Ministry’s mission is to coordinate the ongoing cross-government work needed to learn from, respond to, recover from and prepare for emergencies using the best data and information available. The Ministry works directly with local governments, Indigenous entities, provincial ministries and agencies, federal departments, other jurisdictions, and industry in hazard mitigation, preparedness, response, and recovery.
This notice is not a solicitation or a formal call for tenders or any other type of response. No legal rights or privileges are conferred by or will be deemed to arise as a result of this notice.
The contents of this notice are subject to change and will not form or be deemed to comprise any part of the content of any formal procurement process or documentation that may be issued in the future.
Vendors interested in the potential opportunity that this notice generally describes should continue to monitor BC Bid for formal notifications, if any, regarding any formal procurement process from the Ministry.

The impact of an emergency within a community or within the Province may necessitate the activation of Group Lodging Services. This may include setting up a Group Lodging Facility, engaging a Group Lodging Coordinator, and providing Supports such as food, security etc. The Group Lodging Coordinator, along with their team, plans, activates, operates and deactivates the Group Lodging Facility at the request of Indigenous entities, local authorities or the Province to shelter, feed and support evacuees. Contractor(s) may be requested to operate Group Lodging Services for between 100 to 5000 evacuees depending on the size and impact of the emergency. | June 2023 | July 2023 |
