Notice of Intent to Award a Contract
Notice is hereby given that the City of Abbotsford (the “City”) is contemplating making a direct award of a contract to Commercial Emergency Equipment Co. (the “Supplier”) for the following:
• Supply and Delivery of one (1) Heavy Duty Enforcer, Rescue Truck; Pierce STOCK UNIT # 38538
Rationale for Contemplating a Direct Award
The City is contemplating a direct award with the Supplier for the following reasons:
• The City is a member of Canoe Procurement Group of Canada which is a Group Purchasing Organization (also called a Buying Group or Cooperative Purchasing Organization). Canoe Procurement’s programs meet all legislative and trade agreement requirements.
Canoe is a cooperative buying group that collaborates with municipalities, non-profits, and the public sector across Canada. In compliance with trade legislation, Canoe has gone to RFP on behalf of the entire membership, allowing member organizations to procure directly through the program.
• The City requires one (1) new Heavy Duty Enforcer, Rescue Truck to replace a Squad Truck in order to continue to meet the necessary requirements under the Fire Underwriters Survey (“FUS”) and the Supplier has the ability to meet the 150-day delivery timeline.
Contract Value:
The value of the contract is expected not to exceed $1,192,002.32 CAD plus applicable taxes.
Submission of Objection Notice
Respondents should be aware that as the City is a member of Canoe Procurement Group and it is eligible to procure through the cooperative contracts that are administered by them. Any Respondents that still wish to object to this decision should email their objection to the attention of Sailesh Kapadia, Buyer, Procurement Services at https://abbotsford.bidsandtenders.ca/Module/Tenders/en/Tender/Detail/54180a6d-5fca-460c-ab79-679244a93a4d?fa=DFE4FE9463F6259C01B7DE0C75BE4A6198F63465 by July 04, 2023, no later than 2:00 p.m. local time.
Submissions by other methods will not be accepted.
Respondents objecting must outline specific reasons for their objection in their email as well as demonstrate their ability to perform the contemplated work and/or services and show availability and resources. The Respondent’s ability to provide goods and services of the same or better quality and price and within the required period will be the key criteria used in the consideration of any Respondent’s objections.
