    Description
SFU needs to purchase a Vacuum Probe Station for the electrical characterization of microdevices. The probe station will need to have a minimum of six independent probes to allow for application and measurement of various signals to and from the devices-under-test. The probe station must have a temperature-controlled chuck. The devices will be tested under different pressures to study the transition from squeezed film damping to anchor/thermoelastic losses. The probe station must therefore be able to sustain vacuum levels. It is vital that different operational parameters may be controlled using a computer for automated data acquisition over extended periods.

It is SFU’s intention to award a contract to Instec Inc. to purchase the Vacuum Probe Station.

An ACAN is a public notice indicating to the supplier community that SFU intends to award a contract for goods, services, or construction to a pre-identified supplier, thereby allowing other suppliers to signal their interest in bidding, by submitting a statement of capabilities. If no supplier submits a Statement of Capabilities that meets the requirements set out in the ACAN, on or before the submission deadline stated in the ACAN, SFU may then proceed with the award to the pre-identified supplier. If other potential suppliers submit Statements of Capabilities during the posting period, and meet the requirements set out in this ACAN, SFU may proceed to a Request for Proposal process.

Submission of a Statement of Capabilities

Suppliers who consider themselves fully qualified and available to provide the system described in the ACAN, may respond with a Statement of Capabilities, in writing to the SFU contact identified in this notice, on or before the response deadline of this ACAN. The Statement of Capabilities must clearly demonstrate how the supplier meets the minimum essential requirements.

The Statement of Capabilities must be submitted to zlsheng@sfu.ca
