Description
In support of software systems for the Stand Development Modelling, Forest Analysis, and Inventory Branch (FAIB) of the BC Ministry of Forests, the Natural Resource Information Division within the Water Land Resource Stewardship is issuing this Request for Proposal to solicit vendors for the provision of Information Management and Information Technology services.
We require project manager services, business analyst services, technical architect services, database developer services and systems developer services to provide development, enhancement and support for systems used in the Table Interpolation for Stand Yields (TIPSY) and related suite of software applications. This includes an established computer programming firm to be qualified to develop applications in Microsoft Visual C++, and to program in C/C++ and OpenGL for Windows-based desktop applications and with previous forestry applications development knowledge. The project includes the development, maintenance, and enhancement of TIPSY including the related applications of Financial Analysis of Silviculture Investment & Economic Returns (FAN$IER), Batch TIPSY Composer, Plot Stand Yield graphing tool (PLOTSY), Site Index Tools (Sitetools) and Carbon Budget Model (CBM-CFS3) link. These applications are critical to support timber supply analysis and allowable annual cut (AAC) determinations in the province.
