In July 2022 the City of Nanaimo adopted a new Official Community Plan, City Plan: Nanaimo ReImagined. In accordance with the Local Government Act, City Plan provides the justification and objectives for the City’s development permit (DP) areas, as well as the DP map schedules. The City’s DP guidelines are within Part 18 of the City of Nanaimo Zoning Bylaw, 2011, No. 4500.
