Description
The Ministry of Agriculture and Food envisions a strong and competitive B.C. food and beverage processing sector that contributes to regional economic development and food system resilience.
The project will aim to investigate the potential for value-added processing in British Columbia's tree fruit and berry sector, which is currently primarily oriented towards the fresh market and in some cases the frozen market. It will include benchmarking assessments as well as in-depth and practical case studies to explore the feasibility of secondary processing systems, focusing on value-added processing opportunities for these specific primary commodities. The goal is to identify potential market opportunities and the key factors that contribute to successful value-added processing ventures, including the exploration of vertical integration possibilities and possible opportunities.
The term of the project is approximately four months and must be completed by March 22, 2024. The budget of the project is a maximum of $60,000.00 including services and eligible expenses. Further details as to the scope of this opportunity and the requirements can be found within this RFP.
