Description
The BC Ministry of Water, Land and Resource Stewardship is procuring services to continue with the woodland caribou monitoring schedule, specifically, conduct aerial mark-resight surveys for the Pink Mountain and Graham caribou ranges.
The work will take place during winter 2024, following caribou collar deployment by the WLRS caribou team, and requires substantial time commitments from the successful Proponent in order to intensively survey these woodland caribou ranges. This should allow for the completion of the mark-resight surveys which will provide composition, recruitment, and population estimates with sightability correction, as applicable. For the purposes of the bidding documents, it is anticipated that this program will require approximately 60 flight hours for the Pink Mountain mark-resight survey and 60 flight hours for the Graham mark-resight survey – Approximately 120 hours total flight time.
