Notice of Intent
VGH Campus Metering BMS Integration
Document Number: E029-00NOI
Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) intends to proceed with the Metering BAS Integration project at the Vancouver General Hospital (VGH) Campus, Project Number E029-00.
The contractor and the estimated value of the work will be:
- Ainsworth Inc. at 5265 185a Street, Surrey, BC V3A 7A4
- Value between $80,000 - $120,000
The scope of work consists of integrating steam and condensate meters at various buildings on VGH Campus into the VGH Building Automation System (BAS) and Kaizen analytics platform and improving Electrical Metering System Integration. The work includes providing required enclosures, panels, wiring, conduit and terminations to connect signal output to the BMS and programming as required to totalize readings and transfer to Kaizen.
VCH has chosen to direct award the contract for the following reasons:
- Ainsworth Inc. is prequalified with VCH to provide mechanical services.
- Ainsworth Inc., through ESC Automation Inc., holds a service contract for VGH Campus DDC Maintenance Service Program for building automation control hardware, software and analytic program maintenance, optimization and upgrades.
- Ainsworth Inc. acquired ESC Automation Inc., who is the sole service provider to service the proprietary Delta Controls DDC systems in British Columbia.
- Ainsworth Inc. has established working relationships with the VGH Campus Facility Maintenance and Operations team and has built knowledge of the sites and existing infrastructure.
- Ainsworth Inc. is registered and compliant with all applicable WorkSafe BC regulations.
- Ainsworth Inc. has Commercial General Liability insurance coverage in an amount not less than $5,000,000.00 inclusive per occurrence against bodily injury, personal injury and property damage.
- Ainsworth Inc. has Automobile Liability insurance coverage on all non-owned vehicles in an amount not less than $ 2,000,000.00.
Contractors wish to challenge this decision are to email the undersigned by February 12, 2024, 15:00 PST.
Provide proof showing your ability to meet the requirements defined in this Notice of Intent. Only challenges from qualified mechanical contractors will be reviewed.
