The Stuart Nechako Forest District invites interested suppliers who are qualified to provide the Archaeological Services described in Appendix A - Example Contract: Schedule A – Services to submit a proposal on this opportunity.
The objective of the work that may result from this opportunity is to identify, refine, and delineate areas of high archaeological potential and archaeological and cultural features within the project areas on unoccupied provincial crown land and within Ruby Rock Lake Provincial Park.
Additional detailed survey work to identify and delineate archaeological and cultural features may be required, depending on the results of the Preliminary Field Reconnaissance.
Additionally, the contractor will make recommendations to the Ministry on how to minimize or avoid impact to those areas of high archaeological potential and/or features when implementing fuel reduction practices.
• Fuel reduction practices range from mechanical harvesting; pruning/brushing/thinning understory vegetation; removing, altering and/or redistributing surface fuels; and prescribed or cultural burning.
• This contract may run concurrently with Fuel Management Prescription Development contract(s) carried out by another Contractor(s).
The project area is around:
• The community of Cluculz Lake, located 20 minutes east of Vanderhoof, BC and 30 minutes west of Prince George, BC.
• The community of Yekooche, located 90 minutes west of Fort St James, BC.
The work is anticipated to begin in May of 2024 and be complete in March of 2025.
The Ministry may post any addendum to this notice on the BC Bid website. Respondents are solely responsible to continually monitor BC Bid on an ongoing basis to keep themselves informed of any amendments or addenda. If a supplier is subscribed to e-Bidding, or has clicked the Start Submission button, the contact will receive notification that an amendment has been issued.
