Engineering Services for F415-00 SH Lighting Controls Upgrade Implementation

Vancouver Coastal Health Authority (VCHA) intends to extend the contract with Prism Engineering Ltd. for continued Engineering Services to the F415-00 SH Lighting Controls Upgrade Implementation (Project). Prism Engineering Ltd. has provided Engineering Services to date. The extension of Engineering Services is required due to changes in project scope.
The maximum value of this contract award will not exceed $100,000.00 - plus tax. The Health Authority have chosen not to complete an additional competitive process and extend the current contract with Prism Engineering Ltd. for the following reasons:
- Prism has completed the site audit for both the controls and lighting project, developing the scope for this work.
- Prism have past experience on this site for both interior and exterior lighting work at Sechelt Hospital, including supporting contractor with the local permitting processes.
- They have extensive site knowledge through providing ongoing support and guidance to the FMO team on a range of electrical issues over the past few years.
- Bringing in another consultant at this stage would delay the project and would draw more of the FMO teams time to onboard a new consultant.
- This project is funded by operations funds and has an incentive agreement which will require us to mobilise quickly to complete in time to avoid the risk of funding expiry at the end of the fiscal and a potential external revenue loss.
- Prism is a BC Hydro Approved lighting consultant.
