    Description
In March of 2024, The Ministry of Agriculture and Food announced a new Enhanced Replant Program that will provide as much as $70 million in support to help producers replace damaged, diseased and low-producing vines, plants and trees with climate-resilient varieties that produce in-demand, premium fruit. The Enhanced Replant Program will include sector-specific Planting Guidelines.
This project will develop sector specific Planting Guidelines for the B.C. blueberry, cranberry, cherry, pome fruit, and stone fruit industries by reviewing existing opportunity assessments and consulting with B.C. growers, industry associations, packer-processors and agrologists.
Concurrent with this project, The Ministry is soliciting contractors to update the B.C. raspberry and wine grape opportunity assessments. The Proponent of the current project will be required to collaborate with the contractors completing the raspberry and wine grape reports and integrate planting guideline recommendations into the final report. Proponents interested in completing either the wine grape or raspberry opportunity assessments are encouraged to submit separate proposals via BC Bid.
The final report containing recommended Planting Guidelines must be completed by July 22, 2024.
Further details as to the scope of this opportunity and the requirements can be found within this RFP.
