Description
The purpose of this RFP is to survey recently harvested blocks with commercial thinning treatments from a predetermined list of 15 blocks in the Prince George, Quesnel, and Terrace districts. Plot locations for 302 have also been pre-selected. The commercial thinning occurred between 2018 and 2023, removing approximately 40% of the stand’s basal area, retaining at least 20m2/ha.
Please note: the survey methodology differs from the timber cruising and silviculture survey manuals. Data will be collected within 10mx20m fixed rectangular plots which are located on trail edges to capture area with no trees (approximately 25%). There are an estimated 1,000 sph average on site and therefore each plot should have 15-20 trees. Full measurements are to be collected for each tree within the plot. Please see the appendix for additional details on the field measurement methods.
Further details as to the scope of this opportunity and the requirements can be found within this RFP.
