Under the direction of the Ministry representative, the objective of this project is to develop a written Wildland Urban Interface (WUI) Wildfire Risk Reduction Plan (WRR) Plan for the Sheep Creek area of interest (AOI) of 70,736ha.
The successful contractor will work with the participating First Nation Communities to establish a coordinated workplan, that focuses on the community’s areas of expertise and level of interest for participation in this project.
Proposals must include a detailed plan of engagement, listing personnel, activities, and estimated duration. Rates for work to be completed by the participating First Nations will be negotiated by the Province. For purposes of evaluation theses rates will be considered to be equal for all proponents. The activities and amount of First Nation involvement proposed will be factored into the evaluation for determination of the total bid.
The work, mapping, and spatial data must follow the Wildland Urban Interface Wildfire Risk Reduction Plan Standard and Guidance Document which includes but is not limited to:
1) determining wildfire risk to communities,
2) fire behaviour/probability modelling
3) spatial stratification and ground verification,
4) identifying planning and operational fuel management units to reduce this risk,
5) identification of overlapping objectives.
