Description
VGN Resources Group Inc. (VGN) will be the Program Administrator for projects under the Ministry of Agriculture and Food's (Ministry) extension programming for environment and climate change. This RFP and project is administered by VGN on behalf of the Ministry.
There is a need identified through the Islands and South Coast regional extension engagement, for knowledge transfer to understand nutrient management, soil sampling, reading and interpreting soil tests, soil health assessments, soil water holding, and assessments of soil texture / type.
Improvements in soil health can contribute to managing drought, flooding, crop nutrition, and carbon capture, making them important climate adaptation and climate mitigation strategies.
These tools and knowledge are also needed to inform crop management decisions on irrigation, fertilizer and organic amendments, tillage, cover cropping, and grazing.
