    Description
UBC Properties Trust is pleased to request proposals for Professional Engineering and Design Services for the proposed new Lower Mall Precinct Phase 1 at the Vancouver Point Grey Campus.  UBC is re-envisioning the western edge of the Point Grey campus to create a resilient and adaptive student residence community. The first of these projects will create a graduate student-focused community with approximately 1500 beds in a range of unit types along with the services, support and amenities to help residents and their community flourish. The project looks to the future - it will develop a prototype eight-storey hybrid mass timber and wood frame structure - and to the past -with the adaptive re-use of UBC’s Heritage Fire Hall. The project is a major opportunity to advance innovative, affordable, inclusive and climate resilient housing and meaningfully contribute to the university experience
A Construction Manager will be engaged during the Schematic Design phase. The Design Team is expected to work collaboratively with the Construction Manager throughout all stages of design. This is to ensure the design adheres to the project budget and schedule. The Architectural RFP process is currently underway. If successful, a contract for services will be with UBC Properties Trust directly, and you will form part of an Integrated Design Team. All coordination and direction for the project will be provided by the Architect / Coordinating Registered Professional. Invoices will be submitted directly to UBC Properties Trust.
The total Construction Budget for this project is approximately $330 million.
