Description
In 2021, the Trust, in collaboration with the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure (MOTI), began delivering funding to support inter-community transportation services in Northern B.C. Since that time, Northern Development has assumed responsibility for making funds available to support a long-haul service (300+ kilometres) in Northern B.C., as well as inter-community shuttle services (100+ kilometres). Today, the Trust funds the BC Bus North Service as well as 15 community shuttle services.
BC Bus North (Home | BC Bus North) currently has five routes throughout Northern Development’s service area:
- Prince George to Prince Rupert, and return
- Prince George to Fort St. John, and return
- Prince George to Valemount, and return
- Fort St. John to Fort Nelson, and return
- Prince George to Kamloops, and return
The purpose of this REOI is to notify eligible and qualified transportation providers about the upcoming application intake for the Inter-City Passenger Transportation Services for Northern B.C. (BC Bus North) fund.
