    Description
    Through this Request for Proposals, the City of Merritt invites proposals from experienced civil contracting firms to perform the construction services for the City’s proposed ‘West Merritt Active Transportation Path’ (the ‘Project’), that focuses on connecting existing pathway and trail facilities with key destinations within the community. The Project is in the West Merritt (Merritt, BC) neighborhood and will connect with an existing pathway that follows Coldwater River and extends to Voght Park along Main Street. It will create an approximately 2.8-kilometer recreation route that will also connect two schools (Merritt Secondary School and Merritt Central Elementary School).
    The General Scope of Work for this Project will Include:
    • Supply and Install 109 lineal meters of Concrete Roadside Barriers
    • Supply and Install Concrete Flower Boxes
    • Remove & Disposal 4,425 square meters of Asphalt Pavement
    • Supply & Install 2,915 square meters of 75mm Asphalt Pavement (Roads)
    • Supply & Install 4,000 square meters of 50mm Asphalt Pavement (Multi-Use Path)
    • Supply and Install Road and Path Gravel Structures
    • Supply and Install Active Transportation Line Paintings
    • Supply and Install Wayfinding Signage
    • Supply and Install Concrete Catch Basins
    • Miscellaneous Storm Sewer Improvements and Adjustments
    • Supply and Install Portland Loo Pre-Manufactures Washroom Facility – Optional Work
    • Supply and Install Portland Loo Foundation Concrete Pad, Site Work and Site Servicing – Optional Work
    Full details of the Work required is provided in Part A of this RFP.  A summary of the Work is as follows:
    Contract Time & Phasing: The City requires the Work for this Project to be completed in two phases, with the first phase completed by October 15, 2022, and the second phase completed by August 15, 2023.  The Work for each phase is outlined in the Contract Drawings.
    Form of Contract: The Contract for the Work placed as a result of this RFP will be the MMCD (Master Municipal Construction Documents) 2009 Unit Price Contract, together with supplementary conditions as detailed in Part C of this RFP.
