    ==========================================================================
    Simon Fraser University is a research-intensive public university located in British Columbia, Canada.  Established in 1965, SFU is consistently ranked among Canada’s top comprehensive universities and is recognized for its commitment to innovative education, interdisciplinary research, and community engagement.  The university’s research enterprise continues to grow rapidly, with increasing levels of external research funding supporting impactful work across a wide range of disciplines.

    SFU is seeking proposals from commercially established companies with substantial experience and proven capacity for the provision of Janitorial Services in educational settings. SFU operates three urban university campuses and a large on‑mountain residential community which includes a hotel. Each campus serves different populations, operational hours, and usage patterns. Proponents must understand the unique characteristics of each environment, as these directly influence labour planning, equipment staging, travel between buildings, security access, event coverage, and overall pricing.

    The successful proponent shall perform quality work according to the specified performance level of service and to the “Best Practice” of the janitorial industry. Despite having three distinct geographic locations and somewhat different services provided at each campus, the goal is that any visitor can expect the same look, feel and experience in relation to janitorial services. The initial term of the agreement is to be for a period of five (5) years, with an option in favour of SFU to extend the agreement on the same terms and conditions, for up to two (2) additional extension terms of up to two (2) years each.

    The selected proponent will be requested to enter into negotiations for an agreement with SFU for the provision of the Deliverables based on the form of Services Agreement attached as Appendix A to the RFP.  It is SFU’s intention to enter into an agreement based on the form of Articles of Agreement attached as Appendix A to the RFP with only one (1) legal entity.

    The term of the agreement shall be as set out under section1.3 of the RFP document, and may be negotiated with the selected proponent.  SFU may extend the agreement on the same terms and conditions for additional terms.  It is anticipated that the agreement will be executed on or around April 30, 2027.
