The estimated budget for the project is $104,000. However, proposals that exceed this value will be considered as per section 7.2 – Weighted Criteria.

The approved prescription is designed for flexibility to utilize a variety of treatment systems (e.g. hand crews in conjunction with small equipment), if contractors can demonstrate prescription targets are achievable and can ensure minimal impacts to leave trees, understory retention, and soil disturbance. Should small machinery use be proposed, the work should occur on frozen ground to minimize soil disturbance, if possible.
Any pile burning is to proceed concurrently with treatments where conditions allow and should be completed before the start of 2024 winter operations at Silver Star Mountain Resort. All treatment activities and debris management are to take place prior to the winter 2024 opening dates: September – November 26, 2024.
Because of the potential for adverse venting conditions, proponents have until March 31, 2025, to complete any required pile burning. However, if the services cannot be provided within the term of the contract, the term of the contract may be extended upon mutual agreement.
Further details as to the scope of this opportunity and the requirements can be found within this RFP.
