    Description
The purpose of this RFP is to solicit Proposals from qualified Proponents for Rural Intersection Safety Study.  In 2014, the City partnered with ICBC to complete a Network Screening Study and determine where limited road safety resources can be allocated in an optimized manner. The study excluded intersections with less than five collisions a year therefore only 44 of the City’s 489 intersections were included in the analysis. With the exception of a few intersections along Prest Rd, this study focused its detailed analysis only on urban intersections. In 2020, the City of Abbotsford completed a Rural Intersection Safety Review which led to several
low-cost improvements throughout the City’s rural areas. After recent high-profile fatalities in the
City’s rural areas of East Chilliwack, Yarrow, and Rosedale, Chilliwack wants to complete a
similar study that focusses solely on rural road safety. To download documents related to this RFP please visit the City of Chilliwack website at www.chilliwack.com/bids
