Contract: NORTH BASIN DRAINAGE IMPROVEMENTS PROJECTS

The Owner invites tenders General contracting and construction services for the North Basin Drainage for: Improvements Projects - Stream 1 (Part A), Stream 2 (Part B) and the Adventure Bay Site (Part C). A summary of the specific work items includes the following (approx. quantities):
Part A – Stream 1
  • Supply and Install one (1) Precast Concrete Inlet Structure;
  • Supply and Install six (6) Concrete Manholes 1050mm and 1200mm;
  • Supply and Install two (2) Top Inlet Catch Basins;
  • Supply and Install Approximately 120m of PVC Storm Main;
  • Supply and Install one (1) Precast Concrete Impact Baffle Outlet Structure;
  • Supply and Install Riprap Class 10;
  • Resurfacing Works.
Part B – Stream 2
  • Supply and Install one (1) Precast Concrete Inlet Structure;
  • Supply and Install eight (8) Concrete Manholes 1050mm and 1200mm;
  • Remove and Dispose two (2) 1200mm Storm Manholes;
  • Supply and Install one (1) Top Inlet Catch Basin;
  • Supply and Install Approximately 55m of 600mm to 750mm dia Corrugated HDPE Storm Main;
  • Supply and Install Approximately 175m of 450mm to 600mm PVC Ultra Rib Storm Main;
  • Supply and Install one (1) Precast Concrete Impact Baffle Outlet Structure;
  • Supply and Install Riprap Class 10, 50, & 250;
  • Supply and Install Approximately 65m of High Back and Roll Over Curbing and Sidewalk;
  • Resurfacing Works.
Part C – Adventure Bay
  • Supply and Install approximately 150m of 450mm to 525mm PVC Storm Main;
  • Remove and Dispose approximately 125m of existing pipe;
  • Install approximately 350m of ditch upgrades
  • Supply and Install approximately 230m3 class 10 Riprap;
  • Supply and Install one (1) 1200mm Manhole with Grated Lid.

Construction Phasing:                                       The City has opened this project to allow for construction in one or two phases. Any work undertaken in 2022 must allow for any road restoration work (including paving) to be completed by October 14, 2022. Works not requiring road restoration may continue until weather permits. All remaining construction has a substantial completion date of June 30, 2023.
