Description
the Ministry of Forests is contemplating making a direct award of a contract to Lil’wat Forestry Ventures LLP (the “Supplier”) in partnership with N’Quatqua. The contract will consist of burn preparation and implementation activities for the Lower Blackwater and Lower Haylmore prescribed burn. The two burns are located on the traditional territory of the N’Quatqua and the Nation has entered a partnership with the Supplier to complete these works. The Province is contemplating a direct award with the Supplier for the following reasons: the cultural and prescribed burns are located on the traditional territory of the N’Quatqua and it is proposed to direct award this work to the forestry holdings of the Lil’wat Nation (the Supplier) who has staff trained for this type of firefighting operational work.
