Description
VGN Resources Group Inc. (VGN) will be the Program Administrator for projects under the Ministry of Agriculture and Food's (Ministry) extension programming for environment and climate change. This RFP and project is administered by VGN on behalf of the Ministry.
The objective is to assess virtual fencing as a tool for managing livestock more efficiently while supporting environmental stewardship across British Columbia. This includes evaluating its effectiveness in reducing labor, improving grazing practices, and replacing or complementing traditional fencing on both private and Crown land. It also aims to understand current adoption levels and the role of funding programs in supporting uptake. A key focus is identifying barriers, economic feasibility, and technology requirements. Ultimately, the goal is to determine the priorities and supports needed for successful long-term implementation.
