Printer Payment Modernization for the Vancouver Public Library

Solicitation number BC228853

Publication date

Closing date and time 2026/05/29 19:00 EDT

    Description
VPL is looking for a qualified vendor to supply, install, and maintain a modernized printer payment system for 31 public printers that integrate seamlessly with our existing printers and computer systems. Of these, 26 units must support multiple payment options – including coins/cash, credit/debit cards, digital wallets, and eWallets – while 5 units will be dedicated to credit/debit cards, digital wallets, and eWallets transactions only. The vendor will also be responsible for providing timely support to resolve any issues related to card payments.
Our goal is to upgrade to a robust, user-friendly payment solution that accommodates coin/cash, card, and digital transactions for our patrons, who printed ~2.1 million pages in 2025. Additional features should include barcode scanning or an alternative patron authentication method, a print preview function before job release, and wireless printing capabilities for patrons using their own devices.
