Closing date and time 2026/05/20 16:00 EDT
Description
Goat grazing has been used annually for the suppression of sulphur cinquefoil on Kootenay IR 1 since 2017
(with a rest year in 2023). By preventing seed formation and therefore depleting the seed bank, the selective
grazing program has been supporting biodiversity of ʔaq̓am’s grasslands near Adrian Lake and Long Prairie
To understand the efficacy of this program, 31 transects (with permanent monitoring plots) have been
established and marked with rebar as a long-term monitoring program.
To continue to understand the status of native vegetation, biodiversity and ongoing management of the invasive sulphur cinquefoil, ʔaq̓am is seeking tocontinue the monitoring program. The awarded bidder will have access to all previous relevant data and reports of grazing monitoring on ʔaq̓am’s lands.
