Description
Notice is hereby given by the City of Vancouver (“City”) of its intent to contract with Executive Yacht Services Ltd for the immediate supply and delivery of two (2) new units of fire boat engines for use by Vancouver Fire and Rescue Services (VFRS). The required fire boat engines have the following specifications, and come with a 2-Year Parts & Labour Warranty:
Make : Cummins
Model: 8.3 QSC-600 HO
VFRS currently has two fire boats, each equipped with two engines. Due to the critical purpose served by the fire boats, VFRS must maintain operation of both fire boats, and spare boat engines must be kept in inventory to allow for immediate replacement, if and when an engine fails. Recently, the two spare engines VFRS has kept in inventory have been used to replace two engines which have reached end-of-life: therefore, there is now an immediate need to replenish the inventory. If there are no spare engines available, VFRS will be at risk of possible operational failure of one or both fire boats. The current boat engines are the Cummins Model 8.3 QSC-600 HO, which have demonstrated performance capabilities. Having replacement engines that are exactly the same make and model currently in the fire boats will mitigate installation and performance issues, and will help the City mitigate health and safety risks associated with anticipated increased population and activity in local waters during the upcoming FIFA World Cup.
This is a one-time purchase valued at approximately CAD$184,600 plus applicable taxes.
Anyone wishing to request more information and/or has any questions with regard to this NOITC may use the Q&A Board of the event on the City of Vancouver supplier portal prior to the closing date and time.
