CLEANBC BETTER HOMES COMMUNITY FOCUSED ENERGY COACHING PROGRAM – EMPOWER ME

The CleanBC Better Homes community focused energy coaching program is an integral part of the CleanBC strategy to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and promote energy efficiency across British Columbia. To support broad participation, the Ministry of Energy and Climate Solutions offers a community focused energy coaching program, known as “Empower Me,” which provides culturally tailored energy coaching, translation services, and community workshops designed to serve underserved multilingual and multicultural communities. This tailored coaching works to bridge equity gaps in access to CleanBC incentives, helping participants understand and utilize programs like home energy retrofits, heat pump rebates, and other energy-saving initiatives.

Key components of Empower Me include:Conducting 100+ annual energy efficiency workshops for diverse audiences in the Lower Mainland and other regions of B.C. Providing ongoing training to a network of Energy Mentors to support CleanBC rebate applications. Delivering translated materials and in-language support, making CleanBC incentives accessible to non-English-speaking participants. Maintaining a program-dedicated landing page with up-to-date resources and information.Kambo Energy Group Inc. (the Supplier) administers the provincewide initiative that directly supports the goals of the CleanBC Better Homes program by increasing awareness, accessibility, and participation in energy efficiency upgrades among historically underserved groups. The Supplier’s unique expertise and long-standing involvement ensure the seamless delivery of these critical services, enabling CleanBC to meet its objectives effectively and efficiently.

The contemplated contract will continue services with the Supplier to deliver culturally appropriate energy coaching, translation support, and workshops to underserved, multilingual, and multicultural communities across British Columbia. The Supplier has been instrumental in delivering these services, having built a proven track record of effective community engagement and program execution.
