Description
The Ministry of Forests is seeking to complete wildfire risk reduction (WRR) work adjacent to the Williams Lake Airport. The contract is expected to commence in Summer/Fall 2026, with all work to be completed by March 19, 2027. There is also a potential option to extend the contract to complete the rest of the Airport Road South project during the 2027/2028 fiscal year.
The total project area is 56.19 hectares (ha), including 28.3 ha that may be partially harvested under a Forest Licence to Cut, to be completed in the first year. If the option to extend is exercised, an additional 24.7 ha of hand treatment-only work will be completed.
The services required for this project include, but are not limited to, understory thinning (spacing), pruning of reserve trees, surface fuel clean-up, piling, and debris disposal.
