Description
Background Information
The KCN consists of fibre-optic cables, fibre-optic splice enclosures (FOSCs), patch panels, and distribution panels located throughout the City. The total length of the current system is approximately 65 kilometres. A schematic overview of the system is provided in Appendix H.
When available the City can provide the Proponent with:
• Civil design work showing the route and underground facilities,
• The design of the fibre connections for patching in the co-location, the closure splicing diagrams, as well as the diagrams for the terminations in the telecom room.
The City does not provide the design of fibre on private property or within the building to the building demarcation.
