Description
The Ministry of Health (HLTH) seeks a specialized consultant with deep expertise in ontology development, health informatics, and HL7 FHIR to support the development, maintenance, and implementation of provincial Health Information Standards (HIS). This role addresses a critical internal capability gap in ontological modeling, FHIR architecture, and conformance, and will enable consistent, interoperable, and standards-based exchange of health information across British Columbia’s health system.
The specialist will provide expert technical and advisory services focused on strengthening the conceptual and semantic foundations of HIS, ensuring long-term sustainability, scalability, and alignment with provincial and pan-Canadian initiatives.
