Description
BC Parks is seeking a qualified contractor to deliver wildfire risk reduction treatments in Kalamalka Lake Park near Coldstream, BC. This contract focuses on Fuel Treatment Units (FTUs) 2 and 3, covering approximately 44.4 hectares under a single-term contract running from September 2026 to March 2027. Funding for this project is provided through the Forest Enhancement Society of BC (FESBC) and the Community Resiliency Investment Crown Land Wildfire Risk Reduction program.
Work includes thinning, pruning, surface fuel reduction, and debris management, with off-site removal of material in FTU 2 and pile and burn in FTU 3, to restore open, fire-resilient forests and grasslands while protecting ecological and recreational values in a high-use park. Activities must be scheduled around environmental constraints such as wildlife timing windows and site conditions.
This opportunity is well suited to experienced contractors with a strong track record in fuel management or ecological restoration in sensitive environments.
