Notice is hereby given that The Provincial Health Services Authority (“PHSA”) acting on its own behalf and as agent for each of the Fraser Health Authority, Interior Health Authority, Northern Health Authority, Vancouver Coastal Health Authority, and Vancouver Island Health Authority (the “Health Authority(s)”), through their collective agent Provincial Health Services Authority (“PHSA”), intends to directly award a non-volume committed Contract to the following supplier to provide the COR-KNOT® Automated Suture Fastening System for use within the BC hospitals for a term of two (2) years and three (3) option years with an estimated spend of $2.5M.

In accordance with applicable trade agreements, PHSA, as agent for the Health Authority(s) has chosen not to proceed with a competitive process for the following reason:

due to an absence of competition for technical reasons
The COR-KNOT® system is a specialized surgical device used to fasten and trim sutures during cardiac and other surgical procedures, enabling consistent and secure knot deployment in a controlled surgical environment. By crimping a titanium fastener and cutting the excess suture in a single squeeze, it replaces traditional hand-tied knots, significantly reducing operation times.
Minogue Medical is the identified Canadian distribution channel for the COR-KNOT® Automated Suture Fastening System product line and provides the only known supply route for the product within the Canadian market, supporting continuity of supply for participating Health Authority sites.
