    Description
    Sealed tenders in separate envelopes marked Tender for Racquetball Court Perimeter Drain Renewal and Tamitik Arena Concrete Pad- Contract No. 475” will be received at the District of Kitimat offices, located at  270 City Centre, Kitimat, B.C., V8C 2H7, no later than 3:00 p.m. local time on September 17, 2026 and will be opened in public at that time.

    The works to be constructed under this Contract includes, but is not limited to the following:

    Racquetball Court Perimeter Drain RenewalProtect existing utilities and structures Coordinate work with District of Kitimat and BC Hydro Excavate approximately 450 m3 of material for removal of existing perimeter drain and placement of new drain Remove and replace approximately 35m of perimeter drain piping including drain rock, non-woven geotextile, and 8 new cleanouts Install 200mm ø storm lead and connect to existing Sump MH Install new waterproofing and drain mat on existing building foundation Backfill excavations Supply, place and compact approximately 35m3 of 75mm granular bedding and 25m3 of 19mm crushed gravel Place controlled density fill around shallow utilities Restoration of all disturbed areas, including gravel area, planter beds, landscaped areas, and concrete walkway
    Kitimat Tamitik Arena Concrete Pad Drainage UpgradesProtect existing utilities and structures Remove and dispose existing concrete slab Excavate approximately 60m3 of material Construction of new concrete pad, including base construction Place controlled density fill around shallow utilities Seal joints between new pad and existing building and retaining wall Regrading to improve drainage of grassed area Install new bollards around transformer Restoration of disturbed areas
    Mandatory Site Visit:  Wednesday, September 9th , 2026 at 1:30pm at 400 City Centre (Sam Lindsay Aquatic Centre), Kitimat, BC.

    Tenders must be accompanied by a Certified Cheque or Bid Bond valid for a period of 60 days in the amount of 10% of the tendered price as bid security. The District of Kitimat reserves the right to reject all tenders or to award the Contract to other than the lowest tender received if it perceives that to be in its best interests.
