Description
The intent of this Tender is to provide a complete and fully operating installation complying with all current local applicable codes, standards, and regulatory authority requirements. The new ventilation upgrade work will include all associated general, electrical, and controls work and be applied to existing spaces in the west and south wings of the school including the administration offices and resource areas. The existing natural gas-fired furnaces and crawlspace ducted airflow will be replaced with unit ventilators each complete with a two-pipe hydronic coil capable of operating in a changeover system. A new central heating plant consisting of three high-efficiency wall mounted condensing boilers will provide heated water to each new unit ventilator via insulated water piping installed in the crawlspace. Ductwork distribution from the unit ventilators will be exposed with the exception of the Staff Room, Resource Room, Counselor Room, and some hallways where ductwork will be routed through the crawlspace, making use of existing floor grille locations.
Work, occurring during the school summer break from the beginning of July 2022 up to September 6, 2022, can be performed during daytime hours. Contractors can request continuation of work into the evenings, though this will be dependent on janitorial staff being available, and will require prior approval by the Owner.
For work that extends after September 6, 2022, then “all” work must be performed between the hours of 3:30 p.m. and must end no later than 11:30 p.m. and in compliance with municipal noise bylaws. No work will be permitted outside of this time window after September 6th in order to avoid any conflicts and disruptions with school operations. There will be two days in October 2022 (TBA) where parent/teacher interviews occur at the school between 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. During these dates and times the Contractor will not perform any work and all work will be temporarily stopped.
A mandatory site meeting will take place at the school on Tuesday, July 5, 2020 at 10:30 a.m. = see tender documents for full details.
