Description
Under the direction of the Ministry Designate, the objective of this project is to develop a written Tactical Plan for wildfire risk reduction for the Fox Mountain and South Lakeside area (19,877 ha). The successful contractor will work with Williams Lake First Nation to establish a coordinated workplan that focuses on the community’s areas of expertise and level of interest for participation in this project. Proponents should pay close attention to the requirements under Appendix B, Part 4, section 1 “Building Relationships with First Nation Communities” and section 4, sub-section 4.2 “Pricing Collection”. Proposals are to include a detailed plan of engagement listing personnel, activities, and estimated duration. First Nation rates will be negotiated by the Government. For purposes of evaluation theses rates will be equal for all contractors. The activities and amount of First Nation involvement proposed will be factored into the evaluation for determination of the total bid. The work, mapping, and spatial data must follow the FLNRORD Standard for Developing Tactical Plans for Wildfire Risk Reduction, and includes but is not limited to: 1) determining wildfire risk to communities, 2) fire behaviour/probability modelling using either BurnP3 or Prometheus, 3) spatial stratification and ground verification, 4) identifying planning and operational fuel management units to reduce this risk, 5) identification of overlapping objectives. Further details as to the scope of this opportunity and the requirements can be found within this RFP.
