- This contract is for herbaceous/(woody) brushing of a plantation planted in 2022.
- The treatment area is located within the Elephant Hill Wildfire perimeter (2017).
- The site was not salvage harvested and has considerable overstory structure (dead trees).
- The contractor will be responsible for danger tree assessments and falling prior to treatment. As a result of the condition of the stand, wind speeds for shut down will likely be lower than normal.
- A brushing treatment was completed in 2022 immediately after planting.
- Seedlings were microsite planted adjacent to obstacles on the north-east side.
- Planting density was approximately 2,000 stems per hectare and a post treatment walkthrough in May 2023 showed good survival.
- This is 3-year option to renew contract. Probability of completing the second year is high, with the third year to be determined after a spring 2025 assessment.
- The contractor must start within 5 days of contract award and must be completed by August 10, 2023.
- There is good gravel road access (2WD) via the North Bonaparte Rd. The Green Lake-Pressy FSR is 2WD in dry conditions and 4WD in wet.
