Description
The Ministry of Environment and Parks is undertaking a program to complete trail and bridge repair works at Bear Creek Provincial Park.
The work of this Contract consists of the supply and installation of materials, including all labour, equipment and tools related to bridge and trail repairs, site preparation, all in accordance with the drawings and specifications, and for the prices tendered in the Schedule of Quantities and Unit Price Table.
The Bear Creek Trail and Bridge Repairs works are generally described as follows:
In general, the Project includes the following works:
• Parking Lot/sanitary dump area
-Remove and dispose of two burnt utility poles that contain communication lines.
-Supply and install water tower.
-Paint existing parking security gate. Supply and install new security gate wheel.
• Bridge Repair
-Remove and dispose of remaining burnt timbers and steel from the three damaged bridges.
-Supply and install timber decking, handrails, ballast walls, stairs, concrete foundations and fasteners for the three damaged bridges. This includes painting new bridge steel components.
-Supply and install rip rap and filter fabric for two of the bridges.
• Stair Replacement
-Remove and dispose of damaged concrete foundations, treads, steel pins or rebar for two elevated stair locations.
-Supply and install new timber staircases for two locations including stringers, treads, handrails, bracing, concrete foundations, and fastening hardware.
• Trail Network
-Remove and dispose of burnt trail edging, retaining boards, chain-link fence, steel pins or rebar.
-Supply and install waterbars along the trail network.
-Supply and install timber trail edging, in-grade timber steps, chain-link fencing, timber retaining boards, and split rail fencing along the trail network.
-Supply and install pit toilet.
-Supply and install granular material to reconstruct trail at washout areas.
-Supply and install drainpipe, backfill, and riprap for replacement near the reservoir area.
• Environmental Protection
-Supply and install appropriate erosion and sediment control measures.
-If required, supply and install wildlife exclusion silt fence measures.
-Supply and install worksite isolation measures to prevent drips or release of deleterious substances to the environment.
Tenders must be accompanied with a bid security in the amount of 10% of the total Tendered Price.
The lowest or any tender will not necessarily be accepted.
