The BC Government with the Royal BC Museum (RBCM) is building a collections and research facility on
lək^ʷəŋən (Lekwungen) Territory, in the City of Colwood, to support the long-term care of and access to
the BC Archives and the Provincial Collections. The collections and research building is being delivered in
partnership by the RBCM, Ministry of Tourism, Arts, Culture and Sport, and the Songhees and Esquimalt
(Xwsepum) Nations (lək^ʷəŋən Nations), with the support of Transportation Investment Corporation. The
RBCM is grateful for the partnership with the Songhees Nation and Esquimalt Nation as they generously
walk with the museum and the ministry on this important journey.
The RBCM seeks to commission three site-specific, context responsive and public artworks. This public
art call is open to all professional artists, contemporary craft artists, established cultural practitioners,
arts collectives and artist teams residing in, or with demonstrated relevant ties to, British Columbia.
