Description
The Town of Smithers is seeking proposals from qualified consulting firms to analyze the Airport’s financials and business practices and prepare a report assessing what and how industry best practices can be implemented in the Town of Smithers, identify opportunities to increase airport revenues and decrease costs, and prepare a business plan and other relevant material to support the development and implementation of a regional funding model, including outlining a legislative process for achieving this. The Town recognizes the important of the Smithers Regional Airport and believes that it represents a key asset to the vitality and development of the Bulkley Valley. To address this, a consulting report on the Airport and its funding needs is required. The project aims to ensure that best practices are followed, supporting the Town and its regional partners in implementing additional regional airport funding.
The selected consultant should possess expertise in the Canadian rural airport marketplace; airport best practices; airport financial management and planning; complexities of the aviation industry; airport operational challenges; airport policy and financial analysis; and funding proposal development.
The RFP document (downloadable PDF) intends to provide a general overview of the work required as part of this project. The expected time to complete the project is five (5) months after project initiation.
