THE SERVICES
The Ministry of Forests, Haida Gwaii Natural Resource District, is seeking to establish an “as, if and when needed” Contract with a qualified fisheries biology service provider to support planning, construction and maintenance activities associated with Forest Service Road (FSR) infrastructure on Haida Gwaii.
The types of Services to be performed on Haida Gwaii may include, but are not limited to, the following:
A. Environmental Monitoring During Construction – Monitoring services related to stream crossing installations, bridge and culvert replacements, and other works occurring in or near watercourses. Services may include implementation of environmental management plans, monitoring of construction activities for compliance with regulatory requirements, documentation of field conditions, and communication with Ministry representatives and contractors.
B. Fish Habitat and Stream Assessments – Field assessments to support planning, maintenance, and capital improvement works on Forest Service Roads. This work may include stream classification, habitat assessments, identification of fish presence or potential habitat, and provision of professional recommendations to support infrastructure planning and environmental compliance.
C. Regulatory Support and Reporting – Preparation of technical reports and documentation required to support regulatory compliance for works affecting fish habitat or watercourses. Services may include preparation of notification or review packages, documentation of environmental commitments, and provision of professional recommendations to support Ministry decision-making.
Services will be delivered on Forest Service Roads and associated infrastructure on Haida Gwaii.

Contract duration
