    Description
Notice is hereby given that the Province of British Columbia, as represented by the Ministry of Forests is contemplating making a direct award of a contract to Wildlife Genetics International Inc. (the “Supplier”).

The high-level details of the contemplated contract are generally described below.
The Ministry of Forests (FOR), West Coast Region Resource Management, Nanaimo, is intending to direct award a genetic analysis contract for the following proposed work/service:
    • Microsatellite genotyping of hair and tissue samples to identify individual cougars including individual identification, probability of identity, gender identification, and match testing to other samples of interest submitted to the lab by FOR,
    • The microsatellite genotyping must use lab protocols that minimize genetic errors such that genotyping errors do not influence population estimation and analysis. These protocols must be consistent with prior analyses completed for FOR for wildlife population estimation projects. Provide documentation of error testing protocols,
    • Provide the above genetic data in an omnibus data format such as Excel or DBF,
    • Provide a layman’s description of the analyses conducted, problems encountered, and a test to detect multiple captures of project cougars in other databases,
    • Store all samples and DNA until the FOR agrees they are no longer needed, to a maximum of 5 years.

    Contract duration

The estimated contract period will be 8 month(s).
