Description
The Ministry of Agriculture and Food envisions a strong and competitive B.C. food sector that contributes to regional economic development and food system resilience. This project will develop a comprehensive three-year strategy to help increase and maintain the number of B.C. growers with CanadaGAP (GAP) certification. Working closely with Ministry of Agriculture and Food staff, the contractor will engage the B.C. agriculture and food industry to determine the facilitators and barriers to GAP certification and recommend a series of actions that will support more B.C. growers in obtaining and maintaining GAP certification within three years. Recommendations will consider financial, regulatory, program and business processes and other dimensions. The recommended strategy will assist the Ministry of Agriculture and Food in developing and implementing supports to increase the level of GAP certification among B.C. growers.

The term of the project is approximately four months and must be completed by March 24, 2023. The budget of the project is a maximum of $50,000 including services and eligible expenses.
