Description
The proposed contract requires planting implementation/supervision combined with Regeneration Declaration surveys at the time of planting on approximately 422 hectares. This contract will also provide brushing implementation/supervision on approximately 40 hectares. The work is located within the Arrow Timber Supply Area in the Kootenay Business Area.
The contract will require a qualified forest professional/ SAS on site but can also have a junior position (Accredited Silviculture Surveyor, minimum one (1) completing silviculture surveys in the Province of British Columbia in the last 5 years, OR 1 year planting implementation experience of similar sized project within the last 5 years), if required to help out. All deliverables must be signed and sealed by a Forest Professional, RESULTS and LRM experience is necessary.
Start date is expected to be around April 15, 2025 for planting implementation. Brushing implementation will start at the end of June and end around November 2025.

Be aware that BCTS has made changes to its EMS and SFM programs to meet the updated 2022 Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI) Forest Management Standard. Changes impacting BCTS clients include new training requirements (Table 008-1, 008-1A, Tailgate Training, SFI Awareness documents, and new Indigenous rights awareness training, as well as changes to training frequency and a new continuing education component). In addition, note changes to EMS/SFM Environmental Field Procedures and Incident Reporting Procedures which occurred June 1, 2022.
Supervisors and workers will need to be familiar with these changes prior to commencement of operations. These documents are posted on our external EMS/SFM website at BC Timber Sales - Business Area Environmental Management System (EMS) and Sustainable Forest Management (SFM) - Province of British Columbia (https://www2.gov.bc.ca/gov/content/industry/forestry/bc-timber-sales/forest-certification/ems-sfm).
