Description
The Province of British Columbia, Ministry of Forests, BC Timber Sales (BCTS), Strait of Georgia Business Area, is inviting proposals for the provision of Forestry Road and Bridge Construction, Maintenance and Deactivation Monitoring Services.
The proposed contracts will support BCTS operations across the Strait of Georgia operating areas by providing qualified personnel to perform field-based monitoring and inspection services on an “as needed” basis. To enhance service capacity and increase opportunities for local contractors, up to two contracts may be awarded through this solicitation.
The contractor(s) will provide front-line monitoring of forest road construction, bridge installations, road maintenance activities, and road deactivation works. The contractor(s) may be required to conduct road inspections, EMS inspections, conduct on site drills with construction and maintenance contractors, review and sign off on daily time reports and load count sheets and complete minor brushing and FSR sign installations when required.
Work assignments will be issued by a Ministry Representative and may occur concurrently across multiple sites. Services will be delivered in a variety of field conditions, including remote and active forestry road environments.
The initial contract term is expected to run from award to March 31, 2027, with potential option(s) to renew, subject to funding and contractor performance.
