    Summary Details:
    Replacement of an existing storm system on Alder Street that has failed and miscellaneous road works.

    Submission of Tenders
    To be considered, Tenders must be submitted via BC Bid’s Supplier “e-Bidding” submission functionality available for this opportunity. Tenders submitted in any other manner will be disqualified.
    Bidders should note that on May 30, 2022, the BC Government released a new version of BC Bid and all suppliers, even if previously registered with BC Bid, are required to register for an account with the new platform. For more information on registering with the new BC Bid, visit:

    Bidders are urged to start their e-Bidding submission process several days prior to the RFP Closing Date and Time to ensure they are registered with the new BC Bid, have a BC Bid e-Bidding subscription with the new BC Bid platform, and are familiar with the new e-Bidding submission requirements and procedures. Biders are directed to contact BC Bid customer support with any questions about BC Bid and the e-Bidding submission process. The District shall not be responsible for incomplete or misdirected Tenders.
    Tenders must be received no later than the Tender Closing Date and Time. It is solely the responsibility of the Bidders to ensure that the Tenders is received on time.

    Term of Engagement:
    Substantial completion – October 31, 2022

    Conditions for Participation and Requirements to Request to Participate:
    Prospective bidders must download the ITT documents from the District website and submit a tender as per the instructions in the ITT.
    The successful Contractor must provide the District with the following prior to beginning work on the project:
    • a Performance Bond and a Labour and Material Payment Bond, each in the amount of 50% of the Contract Price
    • a Baseline Construction Schedule, as provided by GC 4.6.1;
    • a WorkSafe BC “clearance letter” indicating that the tenderer is in WorkSafe BC compliance;
    • a WorkSafe BC Notice of Project;
    • a signed “Prime Contractor Declaration” confirming requirements of GC 21.2, included as Schedule 4 of the Agreement;
    • a signed District of Summerland “Permit to Perform Work within a Highway or Municipal Property”, included as Schedule 5 of the Agreement;
    • certificates of insurance evidencing the policies specified in GC/SGC 24 indicating that all such insurance coverage is in place;
    • a letter from the insurance provider that insurance meets or exceeds GC/SGC 24; and
    • a copy of a valid Business Licence for the jurisdiction.

    Procurement Method:
    Invitation to Tender. The District reserves the right to negotiate. The District may request a Best and Final Offer (BAFO).
