Overview of the Work/Service Required The objective of this project is to develop a Fuel Management Prescription (FMP) for a Landscape Fuel Break (LFB). There are units within the LFB that will be eligible for prescribed burning to aid in fuel mitigation and ecosystem restoration. A Burn Plan (BP) is a requirement for this Contract. A large part of the Fuel Break is occupied by Grassland Benchmark Area (GBA)
The LFB is approximately 880 hectares. It is 300 meters wide and approximately 30 kilometers long. It is adjacent to Meadow Lake Road, which is east of the Stswecem’c (Canoe Creek) First Nations Reserve. There are portions of the LFB that cross Incremental Treaty Areas (ITA) and the proposed Canoe Creek woodlot license. Representatives from Canoe Creek have been included in the initial planning of this LFB.
The work will consist of 1) initial recce, layout, and GPS of treatment units, 2) a Fuel Management Prescription and associated map, and 3) a Burn Plan and associated map.
The “2023 FUEL MANAGEMENT PRESCRIPTION GUIDANCE is an integral part of this contract and must be adhered to when developing the FMP. It is included in this contract as Appendix 1.
There is a presence of feral horses who graze the grasslands and use the road systems as travel corridors. Other features to be aware of and identify in the Plans, include but are not limited to: Rocky Mountain Juniper, badger dens, high value moose wetlands, grouse leks, and possibly Great Basin Spade Foot Toad.

The Tender is in response to an Invitation to Tender (the ‘Invitation to Tender’) for LD24DMH016 Development of a Fuel Management Plan and Associated Field Work - 100 Mile House Natural Resource District issued by the Ministry of Forests (the ‘Ministry’) and must be received by the 100 Mile House Natural Resource District on the form provided not later than 2:00PM on June 16, 2023.
The address for ground delivery is 300 Cariboo Hwy, 100 Mile House and the mailing address for postal delivery is PO Box 129, 100 Mile House, British Columbia V0K 2E0 (the ‘Closing Location’)
All Tenders submitted in accordance with these Conditions are irrevocable for a period of 30 days following the tender opening (the ‘Tender Opening’).
