Description
The Ministry of Children and Family Development is seeking proposals to develop and deliver a Multicultural Family Support Program for Children and Youth with Support Needs (CYSN) in the South Fraser Service Delivery Area, focused on the communities of Surrey and North Delta BC.
Services are intended to focus on the well-being of family members, family relationships and stability, access to resources that benefit the family, and inclusion of individuals and families in their communities. Services will be culturally agile, family-focused and family-centred, and holistic in considering non-disability and disability related concerns the family may have. Service providers with experience supporting families are encouraged to consider this opportunity.
The program will provide a range of parent support services, including family support services for improved stress management, service navigation, peer support activities, and counselling services. The program will provide goal-focused services delivered in community, in office and in family homes. Services will be provided in culturally safe, inclusive, non-discriminatory, and trauma-informed ways that help families support their children to meet social and developmental goals. Culturally agile services and supports are required to promote family wellness and support family transitions. This will be addressed by assisting parents in finding ways to meet the physical, emotional and developmental needs of their children, resulting in their enhanced safety and well-being.
Service is required for multicultural families with children age birth to 18 who are eligible for services for Children and Youth with Support Needs. Children will be living at home, but services will also be provided to support children and families transitioning to a Special Needs Agreement.
The annual aggregate budget for the program including all service delivery, staffing, facility and administrative costs will be $430,000.00. The term of the contract that the Ministry anticipates as a result of the RFP will be up to 16 months ending March 31, 2024 with an option for 3, one-year renewals at the sole discretion of the Ministry.
