Description
The Ministry of Children and Family Development (Ministry) is soliciting proposals from qualified Proponents to provide overnight respite service for up to eight (8) children who are eligible for the Ministry’s Children and Youth with Support Needs Services and whose families are receiving support services from the Ministry. Respite is defined as the provision of intermittent and/or temporary overnight out-of-home accommodation and care of children to provide parent(s), kin or extended family members with an interval of rest.
The Ministry requires qualified organizations to provide one (1) home with two beds and caregivers for children ages 3–18 years inclusive.
The location of service is a home provided by BC Housing in a central Surrey location, and families served will reside in Surrey or Delta.

In addition to demonstrating capabilities and experience related to the required program, Proponents will be required to demonstrate:
- an understanding of disability, inclusion and family dynamics
- experience successfully working with families using child/youth and family-centred approaches that recognize parents as the experts on their own child
- proven person-centred strategies that address complex behaviours associated with Developmental Disabilities and Autism, as well as enhance individual and family well-being
- experience delivering culturally agile and trauma informed services that are evidence and outcome based
- relevant prior experience working effectively and collaboratively with other community service partners, government agencies and/or MCFD program areas in the delivery of integrated service to families
